Strictly BMX
in Australia has made a signature tee for me! Thanks Marc!
Australian's know the helmet logo as the famous shield that the most famous outlaw Ned Kelly wore to survive a little longer from the cops during his final shoot-out with the cops way back in 1880.

Ive been part of Strictly BMX bike shop in Australia since around 1998.

Jakarta, Indonesia

There is a video here of the trip, just some video clips from a digi camera.

Jakarta, Indonesia from Haro Bikes on Vimeo.

Mike Ish and myself got the opportunity to visit Jakarta, Indonesia.
Ish studied Indonesia and was well prepared for the trip, but I decided to freestyle it and see what happens, after flying and chillin in airports for 40 hours, we arrived.
My first lesson I learned was when I took money out at the ATM, There was 3 options, 20,000 - 50,000 or 100,000 Rupiah. I went for the 50,000 Rupiah and I put it deep in my pocket.
I asked how much it was to our guide Ian and he said its worth about $5 USD. Sick!

We were invited to Indonesia to hang out with the local riders and on the last day they had a contest that Ish and I judged at. They said they haven’t had any Pro BMXers since 2001, so they were full of questions and were pumped to ride with us.

There are no public parks in Jakarta, Indonesia and the ramps we rode were the sketchiest ramps I think I’ve ridden. They moved when you rode them, and the steel frames flexed in the transitions. The box jump lip flexed so much and then the landing was such a long wedge It was the hardest landing. The whole time I thought I was going to go through the weathered plywood on the ramps. That’s the worst feeling.

I was bummed because the kids didn’t know any better, they wanted to see the stuff they see on YouTube and it was hard to produce anything. I really appreciate the ramps I get to ride from now on.

The local riders were friendly and were pretty impressive on their bikes. It was defiantly cool to see kids shed that you’ve never heard of. Rizky, Mathius, Oke, are some of the top names in Indonesian BMX.

Thanks so much to WIM cycles of Indonesia, the association of BMX Indonesia, and to our Guides Ian and Caplang, our driver Usup, and the riders or Indonesia, it was a great experience.

Black Z-10's in Stock!!!

These things are so small, they may fit in a stocking! The Z10 is a great entry level bicycle-type ride that's good for a kid up to around 4yrs old. It's a great way for kids to familiarize themselves with the riding essentials like balance, steering and speed control.

This bike is so on point, it can make any small 27yr old look cool. -tonyd

[z10 not recommended for anyone over 220lbs. sorry tonyd but it's a safety precaution -dB]

Winter Is Here

This is what I woke up to this morning, pretty stoked to see snow, no one stole my wheels but I'm pretty bummed I can't ride.

So i camo'd up and took the dogs out, the dogs were more stoked than any kid I've ever seen so that was pretty entertaining for about two minutes.

Congrats to Ryan and his Wife on the healthy baby boy, I'm 3 months behind you and pretty excited, Levi will be here in March!

Papa Nyquist

So I recently added a new title to my resume.... DADDY!!!!

That's right, my wife and I had our first child, a healthy baby boy. Tristan Nyquist is his name, and he has been keeping us BUSY. Lots of diaper changes, lots of long nights, and little sleep. It's amazing being a dad though. It's only been 2 weeks since Tristan has arrived, but I could have never imagined how rad it is to be a dad. Enjoy the photos and try not to pass out from laughing too hard at the video... He's definitely a Nyquist!!!!

Layover!!!! Indonesia!!! Arrrhhrh!!!

I left Greenville NC at 5:35AM this morning, flew across America to Los Angeles (LAX) got here at 1pm, went to get a rental to go to VANS to kill 10hrs and they were sold out of cars! So Im sitting at the airport bored out of my mind.
I was lucky enough that I had "Step Bros' on my laptop, so that had me craking up pretty often, thats the best movie for sure. See it if you havent.

Now Im waiting for Mike Ish, he's flying in from Vegas, what a superstar. He arrives at 7pm.

We are of to Indonesia for the weekend thanks to the Haro Distributor down there that was nice enought to invite us.

Indonesia is about another 20 hours in planes south-west from here in LA. Its located just above Australia, at the bottom of Asia.

Look out for updates soon when I find out more about this mission...

Greg Terzain sent us in a photo of his new Team Issue. We didn't expect the popularity of these things so if you want one, I highly suggest you get it going as they will be long gone come Christmas.

Lightening Bolt Auction for a Great Cause.

Haro's Pete Demos contribution to the Art Show auction.

From Sierra at Nike. Do this.

Lightning Bolts Final Exhibit and Auction
Dec. 10th, Montablan Theatre. Los Angeles
www.athleterecoveryfund.com/lightningbolts.

The Lightning Bolts Art Show, presented by Nike 6.0, has aligned with the Athlete Recovery Fund for a final exhibit Dec. 10th, kicking off an online auction with all proceeds donated to ARF to aid injured action sports athletes.

Lightning Bolts is a BMX-inspired exhibit created around the historic introduction of BMX as an Olympic sport. Nike teamed up with BMX Hall of Famer, Bob Haro, recreating his iconic number plate as a blank canvas. A select group of contemporary artists, each sharing a cultural connection to BMX, were invited to partake. Unique works from artists such as Nick Philip, Andy Jenkins, Rich Hansen, and Michael Lau debuted in Beijing, China on May 13th and have since shown in Portland, OR, and Tokyo. The final exhibit will show at the Montablan Theatre in Los Angeles, CA from Dec. 10th- Dec. 14th.

A slew of new artists including Taj Mihelich and Pete Demos have contributed new works to the final curation of Lightning Bolts, sharing their story of BMX. All artwork will be auctioned off to raise money for ARF. The online auction will begin Dec. 10th at 8:00 PM at www.athleterecoveryfund.com/lightningbolts where you can submit a bid, view a photogallery of all art and read artist bios.
